This will come back soon.
I feel the line: 'He was rather sad to hear her say that, but it's 1998 now, so he let it go.' stands out to me a lot. This is because it takes me by surprise that this story must be set in some other world of science fiction, if robots could walk, talk, eat, and drink and seem to run the world instead of humans and its only 1998.
I feel curious about what is going to happen next, and slightly confused about the who robot being dominant over these "living statues." You've got me hooked!
Is this a society of robots that rule the world, while humans are the "living statues?" If so, this is really creative!
I really liked this piece! Great job! There were a few things I noticed that were a bit incorrect, but other than that, great work.
