Newel and Clyde loved to play in the barn. One day they squeezed into an empty grain barrel. They laughed and pinched each other in the darkness, rolling back and forth across the wooden floor. Then they tried to get out, but the grain barrel lid had locked. The boys panicked and started to cry. They prayed. At that very moment in the field the rein on the harness of Uncle Adrian’s horse broke and he went back to the barn to replace it. He heard a scratching sound coming from the barrel and thought it was a mouse.
