Hopelessly addicted to metaphors!
Constantly daydreaming.
Is very desperate for a daily, three-hour English grammar lesson.
Resorts to poetry for (in)sanity.
Usually writes when reality gets too hard to breathe in.
And still daydreaming...

Point B

July 17, 2017

I grew up to this world
with the mindset of a toddler
Laugh, love, and live
Find my happily ever after
And they said to that brown-eyed doll:
To go to school, get to college.
It's worth more than
street-smart knowledge

All it took was a brand new home,
and a brand new friend
Who knew me more than me
She called my plans for my life story:
The typical A-to-Z
One big sip of grape juice
And she said, "Honey..."

Chorus

Don't you know...
It's a long way down that aisle
And there's no highway to the sky
You'll have to walk on grass
walk on glass
walk in glass slippers
You'll find me there, don't worry
But right now you should be busy
Busy looking for Point B

So I'll ride a horse sidesaddle
Wear skinny jeans to battle
Douse my face in blush and powder
Looked in the mirror,
"I don't know her."
Try out something new
I won't like it 'till I do
Oh...

Chorus

'Cause I know...
It's a long way down that aisle
And there's no highway to the sky
I'll have to walk on grass
walk on glass
walk in glass slippers
I'll see you soon, don't worry
'Cause I know I'm getting closer
A little closer to Point B

Give away a four-leafed clover
Stand erect just like quicksilver
in summer and through winter
Oh...

Let this marionette waltz
her freedom from strong fingers
Find the right ocean,
don't get shipwrecked
over waves
And maybe walk on grass
walk on glass
walk in glass slippers
Oh...

Chorus

Now I know...
It's a long way down that aisle
And there's no highway to the sky
I'll have to walk on grass
walk on glass
walk in glass slippers
Don't worry, don't worry, don't worry
'Cause I know I'm getting closer
A little closer to Point B

Life shouldn't be a choice between
a whiteout and a wipeout
But it is...
And the magic trick is to
"Don't give up."

(short instrumental)

I grew up to this world —
phantomiming color
I grew out of this world—
certainly less miserable
