Three quirks or idiosyncrasies.
- I binge on satsumas when in distress
- I bob when I am happy (a friend of mine says it looks like I'm wagging my tale)
- I panic at the sound of the phone ringing
Three adjectives your family would use to describe you.
According to my mum I am:
- Cheerful
- Self-contained
- Creative
Three adjectives you would use.
- Passionate
- Bookish
- Observant
Three things about you that very few people know
- Although I am renowned for my clutteredness, I like nothing better than to spend a happy morning organising my bookshelves (and also other people's, if they will allow me).
- The first piece of writing I ever finished was a 'how to look after your cat' guide for one of my mum's colleagues. I have never owned a cat.
- My preferred method of exercise is dance classes in the village hall. My friend and I go together and we are the youngest there by around thirty years. ( We are also the least nimble.)
Three things that make your life singular/ unusual
- Half my family live 7,500 miles away in South Africa (I'm in Britain)
- My father is living as a mad hermit in Bolivia
- Up until quite recently we let our guinea pigs run around the ground floor of the house. They used to toddle up to the fridge for food. (Then we got a dog)
Three specific physical descriptions
- My eyes are different colours - one green, one blue
- I have matching birthmarks on my left elbow and on my waist
- I am tall, but it is because of my long, curved 'Malabar spine' (my legs are of normal length)
Three flaws
- I over-analyse absolutely EVERYTHING. Life is exhausting.
- I can often be a real micromaniac and have a crushing fear of rejection, so sometimes come across a little cold.
- I can get quite hot-headed and find it difficult to back down in arguments.
Three favourites
- 'Howl's Moving Castle' by Diana Wynne Jones.
- The rushing and crashing of leaves in the wind.
- A really nice, juicy grape (or twenty)
Three pet peeves
- Apathy and passiveness
- Two-facedness
- Comma splicing
