I wreck words very carefully until I don't know their meaning anymore

Ode to Bed

May 11, 2022

I was born and I died and I found myself in the same place:
my bed.
my limbs grew and sprawled,
crawled under my covers.
from a child to now my body pushed
itself to the borders of my flesh
stretching stretching too far-fetching
but my bed carried me on its
back, like a mother plucks you off the busy road,
and wraps you close, holds you
warm and cradles you in her arms.
My bed spins out my dreams for me
and embroiders them into my hair. I
wake and my palate tastes like the gold
I dup up in Morpheus’ land. I wake and
my sheets crinkle soft against my
cheeks. I wake on a Mother’s lullaby
gently washing my back.
And when too much of my ache
blooms in flesh-eating flowers
and threatens to overflow
my shivering soul,
a cocoon ties like a knot around
me, and my bed floats like an island
in the storm. It thunders and I weep,
I wake and I sleep, but I know
that I can always lay here. I know
this is where I rest.

This poem is like waking up from a really strange nightmare— that confusion, sudden awareness, relief.

Re: hii sorry for the min week-long plus hiatus i just finished the first half of mid years YESSS AHHAHA and the next half is after the June holidays which gives me a month to cram for 6 subjects :D kind of overdue-but I hope that the cold wasn’t too bad!!
There’s really no real answer to this but i think its more worth it to learn one skill properly than to not be an expert in any one despite a wide vary— like there are experiences I wouldn’t truly be able to appreciate without some skill in that area, and sometimes those skills overlap with other areas. Obviously its frustrating to me when I don’t understand or know how to do something, but i rather take comfort in the fact that i have mastery over e.g., that one language. What do u think?
I think I live the most in the past— lots of moments i love and want to go back to, or the “last” moment i never knew were the “last”, things i regret, want to change etc. But i have most hope in the future: maybe i am a better person there :) what about you?

If you could change the colour of anything in the world, what would it be? Like a pink cat, purple eyes, the sky, anything!!

"And when too much of my ache
    blooms in flesh-eating flowers
    and threatens to overflow
    my shivering soul"
Each line induces a suprising emotion. I think this poem is really wonderful.
