Message to Readers

Well, it seems that I must have an outlet for my feelings. I'm to particular about my characters to write their experiences to match mine every time I feel a change in my emotions, so I find myself turning to poetry. It's rather similar to prose, which is how I write my stories, so if it doesn't feel much like poetry, I guess we'll call it a "new style," and see what we learn on the way. Thanks for reading.

It's comforting to know that God is not dead,
That there is still some good left in this world.
It's comforting for the nights when that somber feeling of emptiness
Has you crawling into bed, wondering if anything matters.

There's a full day ahead of you to anticipate,
But even the brightest hopes seem drowned,
When you feel the blackness of your own heart,
Threatening to kill you with its evil thoughts.

It sometimes seems the darkness of this world
Will keep on squeezing the brightness out of everything.
But then, it's comforting to know that God is not dead,
And that there is still some good left in this world.

Amen! I love how you use the repetition of “it's comforting to know that God is not dead,
And that there is still some good left in this world” at the beginning and end of the piece. It introduces the idea and then leaves you with the main point. Amazing work - keep it up!
