Message from Writer

"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you."
"Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope."
"You may write me down in history with your bitter, twisted lines. You may trod me in the very dirt, but still, like dust, I'll rise."

The Open Door

April 22, 2021

There was a door left open,
In a shadowed room,
That let in a few small light streams,
So no one ever forgot.

There was a door left open,
Long before the night,
It creaked upon its hinges,
And never quite closed right.

There was a door left open,
That gleamed with orange and cream,
Just a tiny shard of sun,
Before the sky started to lean.

There was a door left open,
The light before it closed,
Nothing in the space between,
Save flakes of shining dust motes.
