Marigold is a beautiful color. I also associate yellow tones with nostalgia... perhaps because paper/photographs yellow when they age?
I love your subtle rhymes and the theme of each stanza -- this piece is wonderful.

This is beautiful. The imagery you've included, and simply the way you've described marigold, it just makes everything seem perfect.

i love this so so much!
The repetition, the pacing, the imagery, the beauty, the pain...
Oh shoot. This reads like a glorious punch to the stomach.
AH AH that was so incredibly beautiful. i LOVE when people use a sensory detail to connect it to memories. and i have to say, i agree. marigold is the color of innocence and wistfulness. it's happy and carefree.
Interesting how you portray marigold. Beautiful work! <3
