Message to Readers

I know I haven't published much lately. School got in the way, and when I finally sat down to write, I felt so pressured to only put out my best work. After an—excruciating—while, I realised how stupid I was, haha. So here's me restating my truth.
Hope you have an awesome day/night! <3

i've forgotten that i am not a poet,
on stage, mic in hand, lights trained
on my lips, stressing syllables,
drawing italics in the air, unrestrained.

i've forgotten that i am a poet,
a single arc of a writing circle; still
learning my truth, still drinking
the feel of the pen on paper, restrained,

trying to free the stories within.

lately, i've forgotten that i didn't join wtw to make it my stage; i joined wtw to make it my experimental ground, my writing circle. i came here to grow.

That footnote is definitely something I needed to be reminded of. Gorgeous piece though!
