honestly i suggest trying this out.
whenever I feel happy-- i draw a little smiley face on my sticky note.
when i see the little note it helps cheer me up....cause i know i was happy when i drew it and i will be again.
and on the days when i feel hopeless, drawing a smiley face is like making a goal to push through and finish strong.

I have a yellow sticky note

I have a yellow sticky note.
It's blank right now.
It's stuck on my wall, above my desk.
Whenever I am sad, I draw a smiley face.
Each looks different.

I have a yellow sticky note.
It's half full.
I look at it while I work at my desk.
Whenever I am bored, I draw a smiley face.
No smiley face is alike.

I have a yellow sticky note.
It's almost full.
When I see it, I feel hope.
Whenever I am happy, I draw a smiley face.
They are all unique in some way.

I have a yellow sticky note.
It's full of little smiley faces.
The yellow helps me remember the meaning:
hard days will soon be better; hopelessness won't last forever.
Each smiley face represents emotions: the good, the bad, and all in between.
The sticky note helps me keep my head above the overwhelming despair.
The sticky note helps me smile.

I have two yellow sticky notes on my wall.

She sat on the hillside, running her fingers along the blades of grass. The sky was covered in bruised clouds, threatening to dump rain on her. But she didn't really care. Searching the ground, she found a clover and picked it, twirling it between her thumb and forefinger. It was a three-leaf clover. How uniconic. But after a while of staring at the plant, she notice something odd. A sequence of letters and numbers were facing her. https://writetheworld.com/groups/1/shared/224356/version/472170
But out of the corner of her vision, she noticed two figures approaching. Two boys, looking like complete opposites of one another. Each boy holding a piece of her heart. But how could she ever decide which one held more? She frowned at the clover, and then back at the boys who faced her with anger. Whoever said clovers were lucky obviously lied.
