“It’s hard to be different...And perhaps the best answer is not to tolerate differences, not even to accept them. But to celebrate them. Maybe then those who are different would feel more loved, and less, well, tolerated.”

I’m almost certain that The Office theme song is on constant replay in my mind. It’s either that or the Wii song.

Pan. Not a frying pan though. Unless...

I could tell you that I didn’t listen to the DEH soundtrack again, but that would be a lie.

The World At Your Fingertips And Still You’re Lonely

you wonder how long the trees have been standing.
how many mornings spent walking to the bus,
in the same place,
little old town that holds nothing.

the rocks you stumble upon must’ve been there before,
you must’ve stepped on them again,
you can’t avoid anything,
in the little old town that holds nothing.

same stores, same lost dreams,
this isn’t a variation of Hollywood,
there’s no drunken riches, never has been
in this little old town that holds nothing.

when there’s mountains to your right,
oceans to your left,
farms at your feet and still you suffer,
because it’s a little old town that holds nothing.

you live in this world, it holds nothing.
this mind, it holds nothing.

a place where you care of others but none care of you.
a place where you can touch thousands but none touch back.
a place where you imagine yourself to be nothing,
and that would be a dream.

they always come back.
they try to leave,

and they never make it far.
they always come back.

sometimes I wish I was the little old town that held nothing.

The town makes me think of my hometown, honestly (we have less than 5,000 people). Really beautiful how you captured the feeling.

Wow! This was amazing! I love the repetition and I could kind of relate- I don’t live in a super small town but also not a major city. the imagery was so beautiful- amazing job!!

Whoa this is amazing! I live in London and don't really know what it's like to live in a little town but reading this made me rather emotional as if I could relate
