Message from Writer

guess i'm here again?

etude, after six months

February 22, 2021

i wouldn’t call it a “falling out of love”;
that implies that i noticed
i was drifting away

i wouldn’t call it “burnout” either;
that implies there was a fire, once
burning hot and angry in my chest.

it’s more like
“the storm has passed,” there is no
static building up in the clouds

anymore. when lightning strikes it
never strikes the ground.
i haven't written poetry since mid 2020 and it shows

    if by "it shows" you mean "this piece is dripping in gorgeous metaphors and stunning imagery" then ye it shows.

    Re: Thank you, and yeah it really sucks. Last time I actually tried keeping my grades really low key and I'm ashamed of that :( I just emailed the school counselor (yet again) about a follow up on how it's going, and I'm waiting for a reply.

    Even so, having not written poetry for so long. This is really good! I can really understand this. <3
