Stone

February 15, 2021

(Verse)
Crimson fabric
Silver lies
Fire burns behind her eyes
Crown embedded in
hazelnut hair
Her lantern is her only flare

(Verse)
Most would shiver in the cold
But she walks on
With heartache bold
She left behind her life of gold
To save a kingdom
silently sold

(Chorus)
With a sword in her hand and a weight in her step
She hasn't reached her destination yet
Her mother said "my dear don't fret"
For the night isn't over
The stone isn't set

(Verse)
And white the snow against her skin
But soon the scarlet war begins
A messenger they promised send
But the silver lies were told again

(Chorus)
With a sword in her hand and a weight in her step
She hasn't reached her destination yet
Her mother said "my dear don't fret"
For the night isn't over
The stone isn't set

(Verse)
The battle struck her straight in heart
And though her journey had been far
I wish I could say there was nothing but scars
But the night of the victory they buried a star

(Chorus)
With the sword in her hand and a weight to their steps
She reached her destination yet
Her mother said she'll never forget
When the night turned over
The stone was set

When the night was turned over
The stone was set
