it's always "you can tell us anything"
or "we need to have conversations"
until i say something
that you don't want to hear

then i ask to have a conversation
and it's suddenly
"not up for discussion"
or you cry and say "what about me?"

when i just want to understand you
you think i'm being rude
and when i try to defend myself
you get angry

now i realize again
why i hide from you
because you'll listen to me
until you don't want to hear it
about my parents. it pisses me off because they love communication until they don't want to hear something. like whenever i bring up religion, my mom always gets emotional or when i talked about moving out she took it personally and started getting upset. why even ask to have conversations if you're only willing to have them when you like what we're talking about?

you could try writing them an email or a card or something if they're not willing to listen

This can be hard, I understand. But sometimes parents don't understand their own child, they love us and try to do the best for us. But still without a perfect conversation nothing will be alright.
I hope your parents will understand <3

I can definitely relate. My mom has BIG trust issues, and when I try to talk to her about them she loves blaming me. But...STAY STRONG parents can be the worst, but the best at times. :3:3
