what part of me remains
when I'm empty, gone
chemicals seeping through decaying veins
laying dead past dawn
ashes to ashes to dust in the sea
how many times will I cross your mind
will it stick with you, every part of me?
what will I be reduced to
depending on your memory?
there's a reason I love what I love
why we choose who we are, who to be
there's a reason I feel the need to escape to be free

/

I want to lick powdered silver from my lips
drink liquid gold, feel it drip down my chin
I want to be covered, have it envelop my skin
I want this body to be worth something tangible
something more valuable than me, than this
let me know how you interpret this, if at all

gosh, I am in awe of all your work, honestly. I really have nothing to say, the way you spin words together, it hits so hard. Beautiful!

..wow, this is deep. what interesting commentary about feeling the need to be worthy of..having a life, getting attention. i love how this is so open-ended; it leaves the reader with a lot of room to think about what you're trying to say.
