the other day, i read something about how people
think of your name every time they think of you
and how that is were they categorize everything
they know about you

and i had never thought about this until then.
Lindsey-  it's plain, common, nothing interesting.
i don't like it i decided.
i looked it up, just to find out what it means.

it means "island of linden trees"
to some linden trees are holy.
i wonder if an island of them would be special.
linden trees are supposed to symbolize:

"love, fertility, prosperity, fidelity, friendship, peace, justice, altruism, good luck".
is that who I'm supposed to be?
it sounds good but what if i can't be peaceful?
what if i don't have friends?

if this is who i am supposed to be why don't i like the sound of it?

Since I wrote this I figured out I was non-binary. I think that might be part of the reason I didn't like my name that much. I go by Emery non :).

This is a really interesting piece and an interesting perspective. I have always found the power of names fascinating. I am so happy that you have found a name that fits. On a side note, I love linden tea, have you ever had it?
