"I am out with lanterns, looking for myself." - Emily Dickinson
I use reading and writing as an escape, a way to see the world from different eyes, and a way to live the life I dream of.

A short poem about fake friends and backstabbing, because rumors spread like wildfire. Please review!

She Burns

January 30, 2021

Auburn hair
Scorched brown eyes
Perfect for matching
Her darkest lies

Destructive yet beautiful
She strikes fear in the sea
She is what wildfire
Wishes it could be

She basks in glory
Beauty, grace
But destitution
Follows in her wake

Her steps cause an earthquake
Her laugh is a siren
Who has ever known such kindness
To be so violent

She will get in your head
And will never leave
You let her in your garden
And she will burn down your trees

She will seek out all your weaknesses
And watch them smolder, she finds it fun
Don't try to win her or be friend
Because fire doesn't show mercy for anyone
