oh, you curious being /
let your carefree laughter drift in the wind /
turn those hazel eyes upon the stars /
and wish to the comets up above /
whisper to them /
the wonders you can’t contain /
ask them for the unreal /
dream of a life /
bigger than you’re cut out to have /
do so while you can /
when the power of naivety still belongs to you /
abuse it, i tell you /
throw your boundaries to the wind /
and revel in the feeling /
of being on top of the world /
untouchable /
sunshine on your wings /
wind in your hair /
like you will one day rule all that lies below you /
howl to the gods and goddesses /
spit melodies in their face /
fear not blasphemy /
for they cannot touch you there /
roll in the emerald meadows of your imagination /
let golden daisies bloom at your touch /
and giggle at every mundanity /
let happiness spill from your pink lips /
unceasing /
your heart bursting with joy /
shoulders light, no weight to carry /
tell me, sweet girl.
what is it like to have hope?
Footnotes
a lot of word vomit because i suddenly missed the moments when i could look up at the stars and see wonder instead of worrying about the impending doom they bring upon themselves.
re: thank you! also, yes, ddlc. never played and honestly don't plan to, but i honestly think its a fresh take on an oversaturated genre, especially concerning its concept of the 4th wall + time.
this just about broke my heart in a wonderful, beautiful way in which you spoke to my soul and emptied it onto the page. this, my friend, is not word vomit. this line: "like you will one day rule all that lies below you /" it took me and carried it with me and i didn't return until the last stanza and i teared up and then the footnotes and now silent tears ae streaming down my cheeks. okay. first off the formatting and the metaphors and the phenomenal language just tie this all together not to mention the message. i know we don't know each other at all, but if you ever need i am here. gosh, gotta indulge in this again because that's what it is a sweet treat one with sour sugar. <3<3<3
