Sometimes I tell stories. Most of the time I rattle my soul until I break and my heart spills out onto the page.

"I cannot jump the distance. You'll have to toss me!"--Gimli, LOTR

I am a complete nerd. I got the Ring of Power for my birthday.

Book recommendations:
The Oath--Frank E. Peretti
Lord of the Rings--J.R.R. Tolkien

Song recommendation: "Awake" by Beckah Shae

I'm going to meet the King someday!
And I'm super pumped!

when they make the announcement
the world comes to a standstill
just for a moment before returning
to its usual state and settling
we step back from the action and
finally breathe again inhaling and
exhaling calling it a calming strategy
none of us are calm none of us

we reflect on God’s sovereignty
again and again and again and again
out of breath say it’s all for the good
of his elect everything is planned put
in place for good but i don’t see it
our minds are too small to comprehend
the workings of our maker he who
understands and knows the
placement of nitrogen bases in dna
no but i don’t see it i don’t see it
it can’t be right how could this be right?

breathe inhale exhale until our lungs
relax and our heartbeats slow until
the ceaseless pounding in our ears
dissipates into seafoam we run on
sandy beaches and watch pairs of
footprints dissolve into one set and
then back into two i see it now
in a few years we’ll look back and
nod our heads praise the living
God for his sovereignty and his grace
and in heaven at last our fears will
melt into rivers of endless bliss
this doesn't really apply to anything in particular; there are a lot of things going on in my life that i think this poem could refer to, so i didn't get too specific.
let's remember to trust our God, no matter how many times something we see as bad happens to us. he knows what he's doing.
