PROMPT: Why I Write

I write because sometimes life just hurts too much

To take off some of the pain in my chest
Free it from its ever piling weight
When my chest feels like it's being gripped so hard
If I don't let it out it could be crushed
Do you feel my pain

I write because sometimes I need to scream, but I can't

Instead, I let out every scream
In every word I write
The tapping of my keyboard
Is just that
Do you hear my screams

I write because sometimes I need to form my feelings into words or I'll drown

With my words
I fill my emotions
I pour them out
So that I can drown in anything but pain
Instead, I drown in my words
Do you read my feelings

I write because sometimes I just want to escape the world that I'm in

To pretend just for a second
A minute
An hour
That I have control over my life
To be able to get lost in anything but reality
Do you live in my world of make-believe

I write because sometimes I need to

This is such a wonderful piece! It's so powerful. I love the way you wrote it, with a question at the end of each paragraph (or stanza, I can't remember)!!
