I can feel the gritty remnants of before fading away

Never thought I would like a new beginning

But it feels like release, and something fresh.

Cranberry scented soap in the wintertime over a crackling fire

Because I didn't like them, now I don't have to talk to them.

I had it made, but I wasn't happy

I had no idea what to think, and now I don't have to think at all

Letting go the before

Facing the present

Looking into the future

And the best part is

You understand.

Hai. Poetry. Hm. Enjoy.

totally weird to point out but the way you said /Cranberry scented soap in the wintertime over a crackling fire/ really helps connect this poem to something relatable. it is that familiar sense that grabs the attention of a reader. such good poetry!

"But it feels like release, and something fresh. / Cranberry scented soap in the wintertime over a crackling fire" there's something magical about these lines and I don't quite understand What, but I am 200% sure it's there. and "gritty remnants of before" gave me GOOSEBUMPS. I'm just never going to be the same again. fine.
Re: thank you! I've tasted the beauty of alliteration, and now I'm going to have trouble staying away :o
