FREE WRITING

I write poetry greedily,
snatching at words to describe thoughts to describe feelings to describe me.
Hope and despair collapse in a pile of letters,
confusion, and memories.

I read old work hungrily,
picking up each timestamp with care, removing the cobwebs and tearstains.
Suddenly they are no longer the next best thing,
they are merely remembered.

I live life desperately,
turning pictures into movies and slowing down each moment to replay in the darkness.
My heart spills out and plants a garden so bright,
the sun leans down and smiles.
I've moved on to other Sarah Kay poems, but this title is from "Sarah Kay, Poetess/Storyteller | TEDxEast".

    ohmygoshhhh (1) this is amazing and beautiful and fantastic, as always (2) i loveee sarah kay eeeekkkk honestly like none of my friends write poetry (apparently i'm weird cause i do lol) and i have legit listened to all her poems i could find on youtube but i love how you wrote it based on her title!!! (3) ok i'll definitely review this but it's gonna be a little late...not until wednesday night b/c i have finals until then :( is this okay? when is your scholastics comp deadline?
