Humankind has created many illusions and advanced some that were instincual.
The illusion of control, for example. You cannot have control unless the ones you have "control" over comply to your demands, so you don't really have control.
The illusion that we are all special. Sorry to break it to you, but being special isn't a right. You have to earn it.
The illusion that the earth is round. No, I don't believe the earth is flat. This is simply an example of the illusion that words mean something.
