Message to Readers

Hello! This is a small poem I've been working on and would love some peer reviews please. Happy Autumn : )

The Leaves Came Tumbling Down

October 4, 2020

FREE WRITING

Once the heat had simmered away,
welcomed rain drops trickled,
greeted with a smile as they passed by.

Days became shorter.
Days felt longer.

Candles were lit
and a blanket was spread over many.
Families became one.

Pages were flicked
and books were worn.

The scent of cinnamon floated around
with pumpkin spice chasing it,
like animated children on the night of halloween.

Clouds hugged the sky,
and the colour grey became a familiar friend.

Leaves burnt to raging colours;
red, orange, yellow,
and gracefully admitted their falling for winter.

Slowly,
the leaves came tumbling down.

Oh (I totally forgot to put this in my comment, oops :)) and I LOVE C.S. Lewis!! I saw your quote and it made me so happy. Lewis is SO QUOTABLE- seriously, "You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me." RElatable much? XD What's your favorite one of his books?
