This piece was pretty bad. There's so much to do now that I"m in high school, I don't have much time to sit down and write.

A Tiring Embrace

September 30, 2020

You tell me that I'm your other half
that I'm the one who you look up to the most
that I've stayed with you for all these years
that I'm so important to you

But why doesn't your embrace feel warm?
why don't I feel the fireworks in my chest?
why doesn't my heart pound so hard that I hear it in my ears?
Why do I feel worn out?

Who am I to you?
Who was I supposed to replace?
Which gap was I supposed to fill?
           I'm tired from this embrace.
                                           the cold kisses
                                                    the sweet nothings.
I was inspired by a song. Also, have y'all played Among Us?

Reply: Thank you for commenting on my two poems! I cannot stress enough how amazing you are with your words also!
Nevertheless, this. is. beautiful. As for "among us," I've been playing it nonstop :)

This is actually very pretty! I could see it as being the basis of a song. It really captures the feeling someone might get if they were in a cold relationship.

I haven't listened to Among Us, but I will. I love the format of this piece, Brabo!
