It used to tear me up inside,
You were hurting because of me.
But only now am I realizing,
I never asked you to rescue me.
I never asked for you to take the pain away.
I only wanted you to be there,
To hold my hand,
To hug me,
To smile at me the way you always did.
I never asked for you to fix me,
I only asked for you.
