I've been so busy these days, especially with my school's Science Olympiad tryouts!
I was about to make this poem seem meaningful but it came out science related, that's for studying too much.

My hands are blue
They're increasing in density
They're shrinking in size
as the red on the thermometer drops

I blow warm air, but the my hands remain blue
I rub them together, but they turn a darker hue
I clutch my blanket, but it's still the same
as I cannot raise the red

Until your hand surrounds my hands
As heated particles excite each other
        Yours excite mine.

Reply: Thank you! I love your way of language also :)
Secondly, I am in love with this piece (along with your other writing pieces, of course)

Firstly, this piece is amazing. When I read the first two stanzas, I thought someone was dying, but then the last stanza is so heartwarming (Literally!)

About the historical fiction competition, I didn't plan on entering because:

    1. I hate history (Like as a school subject)
    2. I had absolutely no inspiration!

But then they announced trial reopenings of schools in my country, and I started thinking about how we would start to function regularly, which led me to think about how they restarted life during the Spanish flu, which was the topic I initially planned on writing on, but didn't have any ideas... Anyways, I think inspiration can come from anywhere, but sometimes it doesn't come at all. Hope you enter the speech writing competition thought! Would love to see what you've got!
