i. seasick sailor they know his name like it was an elderly man’s
label for a poodle, it just didn’t fit him correctly;
no, who enlists just to vomit again and again once
at sea?; kudos to you for joining the military, we
appreciated your efforts of sacrificing; so we’ll legally
accept you, but not socially; no, you should’ve known
you’d be sick a sea; pull yourself together man, you’ll be
the ruining of our command.
ii. free will’s destiny and she reaches across the table to the box of cereal,
wondering if the God she was raised on planned out her
life and why would he do that?, where’s the fun in that?;
but just as her fingers brush the bowl as she’s boring,
every single unknown thought comes smacking through
her brain and she realizes that perhaps, fate’s deciding but
she’s choosing; destiny says we eat cereal and free will gets
to pick which.
iii. starting to end they hand you life expecting you to take it, just to take it
away when they claim it’s the end of your days; they knew
it’d come, you were oblivious to its existence at such a
young age (not because you believed in immortality but because there was never a questioning of anything or reason to be thinking); then when you learn about eternity’s
expiration date, you just keep going but always wondering.
iv. slavery’s freedom imagine giving birth to a child who has more rights than
you, something you never think about until you’re told to;
and there’s leaving but never truly escaping when it comes to
the art of running; slavery’s more than a physical capturing
and using, it’s a state of mind that’s breaking down the brain
faster than any chains (real or imagery--see what i mean?); but
when you’ve found the one (or perhaps just a one) and are
blessed with an irreplaceable beauty that’s yours truly, there’s
no going back; giving birth to a new freedom of loving.
v. rejection accepting orthodox shall be their ruining, ’cause in the ever-evolving
society attempting to keep up with the turning world, hatred
from the conforming spit at the discovering and creating, is
utterly degrading and decreasing the chance we’ll ever make it
past the cruel period we live in. so when a brother complains
about his younger sister liking little boys and the grandmother
claims, it’s better than little girls; just stand by what you believe,
and don’t let them keep breeding the rejection; since sinners
are everyone, even the grandmother who curses the fact of the
bible’s accepting, if she truly believed that, she’d allow acknowledge
love for everybody; instead, she fuels herself on hypocrisy.
Footnotes
i've been seeing the mini-trend "if {noun} were people..." and the personification of cool things like seasons, planets, months, colors, etc. i think elliem kind unintentionally started it and i believe mia_:) did something, but idk. i'm sure there's a lot more out there i'm missing/forgetting but oh well. anyone, i smelled a beautifully hot muse and decided to take it, sorry i kinda defeated the purpose lol, by saying "if people were people" since we ARE people, but oh well *shrugs*.
thankfully, this took care of a majority of one-liners from my notes app so (yayay!). the formatting is kinda like a string of mini poetry stories, "titled" (if u will) with an oxymoron of some sort. anyway, i hope this work, please enjoy!
feedback of any kind much appreciated! comment below and share your favorite lines, leftover feelings, inspirations, etc! if you review, constructve critsim to the fullest extent please!
what a concept! especially love the last stanza, "hatred from the conforming spit at the discovering and creating, is utterly degrading and decreasing the chance we’ll ever make it past the cruel period we live in." wow, the power in this. love this!
“accept you, but not socially; no, you should’ve known”
“love for everybody; instead, she fuels herself on hypocrisy.”
“she’s choosing; destiny says we eat cereal and free will gets
to pick which.”
Every single word of this is sheer perfection and it’s so breathtaking. And I have to say, my all time favorite stanza(?) of this is free will’s destiny. You’ve blown me again once again Dmoral. And it’s not like I’m complaining.
On an unrelated note, I’d take that 2020 reset button anytime.
@outoftheblue heck i'll second that. stanza v is just?? it hits different , like "orthodox shall be their ruining, ’cause in the ever-evolving / society attempting to keep up with the turning world" it's just so blunt and frank and i don't think there's a better way to put it? some people dance around the topic but i adore how you just spell it out, in such a lovely way nonetheless. your diction is always so so deliberate, and again. possibly the only piece of this trend i've really stopped to look at. adore you and adore this <3 and if you get any....*coughs* in your comments....you know where to find me ;)
Wow
Literally what else can I say
Just go read all the other comments again they basically say everything there is to be said <3 sorry I'm not creative :)
oh my god this is absolutely fucking awesome wait lemme take a screenshot AND here are my favourite lines from each of the stanzas

also, bonus points if you get that unsubtle borat ref in this comment
ok before i start reading, i gotta say, i would not have expected anyone else to come up with this <3 i was kinda unhappy with that new thing, since there wasn't a lot of great writing on the dash what with most of the people inactive and the newer ones following this trend, but well, of course, you eventually had to break off the curse, and THANK YOU!
wow this is really good. it's an interesting take on the mini-trend but it just fits so perfectly! 'since sinners are everyone, even the grandmother who curses the fact of the bible's accepting...' i mean WOW. and one line in particular- 'eternity's expiration date' is just amazing. i love this so much!! thank you for making me think today :)
