In the Tree I See Her

August 11, 2020

My dead grandmother,
With her grainy wrinkles and kind, grasping hands.
The witty words which flew from her unfiltered mouth.
The stature of a well-kept giraffe.
Her fiery hair, once bright with vibrant colors,
Now, in season,
Buried in a grave.

This is a lovely piece! For me, it kind of she’d light on a beautiful side to a heartbreaking thing. And I love the title!
