there is a brightness in your eyes
when you talk.
explaining inexplicable things
with vigour of voice
and words of wisdom.
i can't see past your brown orbs;
pools of deep thoughts,
i want to swim in them,
drowning in liquid beauty as they smile at me.
i smile back.
what are you really thinking?

passion running through your veined hands as you talk,
gesturing in excitement
over things that you understand,
and things that i do not.
how is it that someone with a
beautiful, complex mind
can make me feel just as equal?
surely i must feel inferior
to the sheer volume
of your extensive knowledge,
but no, you make me feel the same.
i wonder why. i wonder how.
i wonder.

they say your knowledge amounts for your looks.
they compare you to the rest.
they think you're ugly.
they are stupid.
the whole world knows
just how attractive you are.
not just your gorgeous brain, speeding through life
like wires in a t.v,
and your vast knowledge:
i hope you know you're
just as handsome as you are smart.
of all the facts you shovel
in your brain,
reading page after page
in every book, in every library.
this is the fact that actually means

your dimpled cheeks aglow with calm energy
as you smile,
pure glee taking over features.
those dimples make you look so
those deep, shiny eyes, all the more so.
but there is a richness in your voice,
a profound maturity amid
your sparkling eyes.
things aren't always what they seem.

patience of a saint,
but a storm in your eyes.
repressed emotion, when will it burst?
is there a tempest that
i cannot see?
are your calm, still eyes not fierce,
concealed behind
tight contact lenses?
you're smart. you don't give anything away.
you know what you're doing.
you tease.
you know i want to read your soul.
but you let nothing go.

Also, I had to add that I just read the quote in your bio and I absolutely adore it! The words flower and dream in the same sentence means that it’s bound to be amazing, but paired with those potent bittersweet vibes it’s just sooooooo beautiful. Sorry - I just had to say that. I think I’m going to add it to my list of favourite quotes!!
