Writing Streak Week 2 Day 1 - blood mountain-red.

July 21, 2020

blood mountain-red.

the color of your blood as it crusts
and forms a mountain ridge
around your open wound.

burnt rust creeps
binding your wound
solidifying and gathering the tear.

the color of these peaks
is the anger seeping through your pores
and the sharp pain as your blood flows freely.

this color is the pain
and the sharp tangy smell
that comes from the small peaks of your blood.
