the pearls, the words
that i polished that i shaped
like a marble pedestal
shimmering white
to my own gaze
i’ll never see anything
but divinity
the truth of it:
poetry lives inside my soul
vibrates through my body
shivers through my spine
writhing green vines
the intricate profound in my veins
i feel everything —
the roses,
the blush of the moonlight,
the carve of the words on my skin
pale blue lips
that fade like winter
i swear in bonds of blood
(intoxicated, dizzy)
like pacts from
anguished wounds
signed on parchment
irreversible
