I'm happy to do reviews if anyone needs/wants one! I take time with and put thought into my reviews so keep in mind that they may take a while :)

It’s Tea-Time, Darlings ;)

June 20, 2020

I. The Red Queen

Hearts and dreams
are merely the same;
artwork of the brain
of a painter gone insane.

It’s time for tea, dear.
Didn’t you know?
It’s time to lay low;
don’t trust the H a t t e r
as far as you can throw

Murderers wear the prettiest masks
before leaving their victims dead
Paint the roses red
before “off with her head!”

II. The Mad Hatter

Down the rabbit hole;
where did she go?
We looked to and fro,
but she’s lost in the snow.

Or maybe that’s ash,
from a battle long lost.
Ash was merely the cost
of the war turned and tossed.

Don’t touch that, Alice,
or else you will find
in this world in which we’re confined
we’ve all lost our m i n d s

 H Ahaha                 ha

III. The Blue Caterpillar

You limit your thoughts;
”One and one is two,”
but you’ve not a clue
to “who are you?”

Blow that smoke so thin and fine
and choke her throat with fog so thick
she sees the visions sharp and quick,
the fumes enough to make her sick.

Is she the one?
Standing strong and tall,
the Alice to defeat it once and for all,
the J a b b e r w o c k y who kills with one fatal call?

IV. The Cheshire Cat

Before you rush off again, dear Alice,
I’ve some wisdom with you to impart;
I’d feel so honoured if you’d take it to heart
but knowing you, you’d more likely rip it apart:

Smile like the moon,
teeth glinting with malice,
drip stars as if from a chalice.
It’s just a dream for dear old Alice!

Humans are cute, but never recall
Amidst all the chaos and panic and fear,
Just remember, dear;
we’re all mad down here.

V. Alice

London is strange, for I never noticed,
that in the tedious streets, monotonous corners,
everyone’s a stranger, we all become foreigners,
except for those down where the minds are warmer.

A rabbit hole, ha!
What an evil little game
intended only to loose rein
on those fools staying sane.

I feel my brain drifting,
my thoughts wet and scattered,
like the crystal ballrooms, shattered!
Oh dear, I think I may have been Mad Hattered.
Okay. Yes. This is the literal definition of subpar. I’m writing this late at night when I should be sleeping. The rhymes are passable, the iambic pentameter is basically non-existant, the whole piece is WACK, but you know what? I’m still proud of it. It was also really, really interesting and fun for me to write, so I enjoyed it. :) Let me know what you think and which of these was your favourite! I would love a review or just some honest thoughts on what I could do to improve. Also, let me know if you want a part two to this, because it was so fun to write!

    i think the more you enjoy writing a piece, the better it is :). a part 2 would be so cool! this isn't bad at all, it's really good actually! i've always struggled with rhyming and you just made it seem so effortless here! i think this really gave off that 'wonderland' vibe, it's absolutely great! sorry i sound so repetitive, it's really late over here too, i'll definitely reread this in the morning <3
