Message to Readers

I'm feeling romantic this morning, so I wrote this little piece. Feedback is appreciated as always.

is this poetry

June 16, 2020

when i say: quiet, and you whisper the names of your gods in my ears,
when i say: quiet, and you rip the skin off of your forearms for me,
when i say: quiet, and the trees lining our yard are humming lullabies,
when i say: quiet, and the world is still and the birds are loud,
and you are rippling, head submerged underwater,
catching floating flowers with your tongue, you, rose boy, you,
look how soft you are, moments before the wind picks up.
