You Could've Been Me

Did you know that you could've been me?  Yes me, with all of the tissue and scars beneath the shell of my face.  A face that now has to face the fact that it lost my limbs during the aftermath.  Likewise, I could've been you.  Bright eyes that have never known the dew.  Never known the way that it makes grooves in your face and erodes your nerves away until all feeling fades.  If you were me and I were you then may I ask what would you do?  Upon seeing me succeding where you've failed.  Where you faltered I prevailed.  Would you scorn yourself and be filled with spite or would you cave in and laugh at life?
