damp, frisky airport smells cling to me like
drops of life
quiet rivers of human slumber and smiling women in restaurant clothes, i sit
i wait
i gaze at my hands, finally home,
finally in the

arms of some lush green aftertaste
throttled by strings of jasmine
musty like god's goddamn country, no

no, this is home. this is
a reverie of everything green
everything that survives
and everything that ever will.

but i belong under the emirati sun
melting into deserts of bodies and thoughts
like a baby tooth
watch me
in a grocery aisle somewhere
or in cars on mercury vapor streets
fading like a memory

sorry honey,
the tooth fairy won't be visiting tonight

welcome home.

I don't even know how to compliment this! It's just so beautiful and descriptive and wonderful!

i see both dubai's airports and kerala's in this small piece. the allure of airports are offensively soothing, and you've portrayed that perfectly. lovely, as always.
