'illegitimi non carborundum'
I'm baring my soul to listen whispers of gray skies

I'm a mess.

Take me to stars

September 16, 2020

oh lord! I have a soul,
but today it died.

no fire burnt it,
nor did any weapon snip it.
no air withered it,
nor any water diluted it.
it dripped from my heart because
someone shattered it into pieces.
it deliquescent my brain as
a thought was infecting it.
my soul left me because
my body wasn't mine anymore.

oh lord! I had a soul,
pure and innocent.
for long i protected it
but i couldn't help today
when the locks rusted.
i've heard of your greatest
from every atom in the world.
if my soul is a star in the sky,
then please take me there
before it shoots down.

In Hinduism, soul is immortal. The poem is metaphorical with any incident that questions your identity and changes the way you see life.

"if my soul is a star in the sky,
    then please take me there
before it shoots down." I loved these lines.
