Message from Writer

"You write so beautifully. Your mind must be a terrible place."
Always on the lookout for tragic backstories and broken characters. :D

I've got an ongoing series called Stereo Tropes Co.! Where story tropes run amuck!
Search up "Stereo Tropes Co." to find the pieces.
If you want to read them in order, follow the numbers in the titles :)

we're dead

May 24, 2020

"You have a problem," the doctor says.
"You have cancer."
You don't want to believe it. You don't want to accept. You thrash and you yell and you point accusatory fingers at the doctor. You scream your hate and you cry your disbelief. You rebel, you say "I'm not dying", even though you are.
You storm out of there, in a huff, and vow to never see that doctor again.
You soak yourself in lies until you're convinced that they're truth.
You're fine, you're fine.
You condemn the doctor before he can even lead you to healing.

You and I have a problem.
We are dead.
Dead in our sins.
A dead man can't save himself and so we lie here in our graves, helpless, hopeless.
We're dead boys and girls walking, trampling this Earth.
We don't want to believe it. We don't want to accept. We thrash and we yell and we point accusatory fingers at the Law, at the one thing that has revealed our ugly souls. We scream our hate and we cry our disbelief.
We rebel. We say "we're not dead", even though we are.
We storm away in a huff and vow to never look upon the Law again.
We abandon it.
We soak ourselves in lies until we're convinced they are the truth.
We're fine, we're fine.
We're not.
We're dead.
We condemn the Law before it can even point us to salvation.
Oh how blind are we.

was inspired by my pastor's sermon today which was on this topic and thought I'd whip something up and post it here.
Don't like if you don't want to. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions :)
Acts 2:38 “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
Acts 16:31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be savedyou and your household.”

You write so beautifully, your mind must be a terrible place. I borrowed THIS from you to comment on you. XD

    Wow, it unveils the sad truth so well - no one can escape death, and no matter how much you refuse to believe it, it'll happen. Haaaaaaa... I'm going to go hide in a hole and cry now ;-;
