When I started school they told me I had to stay away from the little girls in the corner with the tatty clothes and the sad eyes.
"They are not like you," my teachers said.
I stayed away, giggling with the little girls with the pink ribbons and the neat braids.
Then Mama and Papa went to live in heaven and I went to live in the orphanage.
The little girls in the corner became my friends and I became one of them.
