My students have all been talented, but none talented enough. Some have just fallen short like me, and some have not even come close. It is true, one of my final students might have been talented enough, but I have not seen any evidence of that yet, and if one of them was talented enough, I should have seen evidence of that a while ago.
Presently, I study my surroundings. It looks like the dark cave I am in has no entrances, but I know that cannot be true, because every now and then, the jail guards come in to check on me. Then, it occurs to me that they probably use magic to get in and out, but I have tried using all of the magic I know that does not require special objects. I have even tried yelling, "I know Adara's hands like the back of my own!" but it didn't work.
Then again, they have not gagged me. There must be something I can say to make them believe I am a Favored.
Suddenly, in a blinding flash of red light, I am outside. One of my students must have broke the stone. I am free.
