"You write so beautifully. Your mind must be a terrible place."
Always on the lookout for tragic backstories and broken characters. :D

I've got an ongoing series called Stereo Tropes Co.! Where story tropes run amuck!
Search up "Stereo Tropes Co." to find the pieces.
If you want to read them in order, follow the numbers in the titles :)

It was so bright
In the glimmering garden they stood
Luscious orange on trees
An abundance of food
They wore neat, ironed clothing
Washed clean every week
Hand in hand they put on smiles
Thinking of dreams that they seek
Light poured down
From the heavens above
From the outside, it was paradise
For they were young and in love

But they were tired and weary
From the inside, it was hell
Welling up in their hearts
The fear and the darkness swells
Dreaming of a future they'll never have
Though they touch, they feel nothing, only the bad
Dirty and impure
Their souls have never been cleansed
They hunger for hope
But it doesn't grow on trees
In the glimmering garden they stood
Watching the skies and the larks
It was so bright

But they knew it was dark
Got the prompt "dark", and reminded me of these two OCs of mine. So this is about them.
I tried to be clever here with antithetical lines: basically in the second stanza, each line is supposed to be an antithesis to one in the first stanza.
"But they were tired and weary" opposes "They were young and in love"
"From the inside, it was hell" opposes "From the outside, it was paradise"
And so on
idk if that makes sense, but I tried XD

I love this style of composition. Its beautiful how the extremes compile together to make a piece whole.
