Message to Readers

i was inspired to write this after a few book titles I saw when trying to write my book spine poem (and yes, the title “The Hate U Give” was one of the books used). let me know what you think of this!

PROMPT: Open Prompt

you stand there,
proud grin on your face,
as you watch them break down,
from the piercing stabs,
and rage-filled grabs,
because of the hate u give.

while,
the hate u gave,
unlocks the door,
for a world drenched,
in total, mind-numbing,
darkness.

then,
the living stops,
and the dead,
starts.

because what else can the world,
do when all it’s filled with,
is nothing but hate?
