it's supposed to be a snippet of many different people's lives, each in a single color. though your life might seem monochrome, our lives united are anything but! I'd love a review on this; it would be super helpful!

crimson bouquets of carnations exchange hands,
as maroon nails press against dark, glossed lips
in an eternal warning for silence.
her scarlet heels click through the hall,
determined to hide the splatter of blood
on her palm.

his sunburned hands stroke tangerines and apricots,
taking only the best for a breakfast surprise,
his footfalls muted by the amber maple leaves
that smother the pavement as he makes his getaway.
trips alarm, hands yanked behind back,
last thing he sees is cantaloupe bubblegum smacked
between peach lips.

lemonade glasses clink together,
ice cubes rattling, buttercup lips puckering
at the sour taste.
blonde, sweeping bangs shelter gold-hued eyes
that hold lies, truth, and so much more
on a hot summer afternoon.

twisting tendrils of emeralds cascade down
her shoulders, sage eyes framed with
wisdom and age.
she extends a trembling arm, holding the
jade stone out, and drops it at the base of
a willow tree, melancholic branches kissing
the offering and whispering their thanks.

their navy suit constricts them, as they
sit in a cubicle, staring at cobalt walls,
longing for a glimpse of sky,
or his baby-blue eyes.
a sapphire ring sits in their pocket lining,
waiting excitedly for the right moment,
for those eyes to light up with glee.

my eyes reflect violet galaxies,
amethysts shooting across the sky,
lilac supernovas imprinting themselves
permanently in my hued vision.
my mulberry eyes snap open,
wreaths of lavender pronouncing me
queen of the deserted field, of the open air.

your coffee swirls as you stir it absentmindedly,
your chestnut eyes widen as bells chime and
he walks in, wearing his signature tweed suit.
your beige porcelain cup shatters against the dirt floor,
oaken table nearly overturning as you stand
and push your way past him, out the door.

haggard infrastructures brace
themselves against storming winds
as rain trickles down the dismal sidewalk,
wetting a plethora of grayscale boots,
soaking jeans and socks with dull mist.

though our lives may be monochrome,
                                                         our world certainly isn't.

Woah! This is stunning! I love how you used advanced but common vocabulary, and I could understand the whole piece without having to look a word up or stumbling across one.

Replying: Her dad didn't think it was good for her health to be on the site so much. I won't go into detail, but he won't be convinced.

Replying: Thank you! You're so talented, and I'm surprised Charlotte didn't just pick your piece lol. You're also so kind and amazing, and I kind of wish I didn't have to compete so directly with you, but I know there won't be any hard feelings. You probably read my panic in Charlotte's comments, so I guess we're both equally terrified. I've just started my piece, and I'm sure you'll think of something awesome. Love ya too! <3 <3 <3
