30+ Follower Competition RESULTS!

April 19, 2020

Hello everyone! I want to thank you all firstly, for entering my competition! I had quite a few entries, and it was difficult to give out prizes. Each entry was amazing! Secondly, I want to say thank you for giving me 30+ followers! Originally when I started this comp a month ago, I had 30 followers, now I have 50+! So thanks for that! I guess this is now a 30/50+ follower competition XD So now to the important stuff! THE RESULTS!

Prompt 1 Winners:
Grand Winner:
'Meet Liza, the smartest horse on earth' by SunV! I really enjoyed this piece! It was simple, but funny, and I really liked you felt like you were watching a movie being filmed! Also, I must admit, that piece kinda tugged on my heartstrings, because I love horses, and the use of words like Horsepool and Horsemart made it a very funny, enjoyable piece! Congratulations SunV! (https://writetheworld.com/groups/1/shared/158728/version/310003)

1st Place: 'An anecdote with Jimmy the dog and Rachel the cat' by CrazyNinjaKid! This piece was funny and I liked the script-like writing! I especially enjoyed the personality between the cat and dog, and use of words like pork pie hats -idk why but I loved that XD- Congratulations CrazyNinjaKid! (https://writetheworld.com/groups/1/shared/158670/version/309883)

2nd Place: 'Wilson's Day' by Puppet_Master! This piece was very cute, and I liked how you made Wilson talk to humans, that made me like the piece even more! Just make sure to keep your grammar in line, there were a few places where a comma should have been used instead of a full stop, but overall, I loved it! Congratulations Puppet_Master! (https://writetheworld.com/groups/1/shared/153842/version/300682)

Note: I didn't have enough entries for a third place here.

I just wanted to say, for this prompt it was really hard to pick! The 3 entries were pretty much equal, and I loved them all so much! I think the main difference is how they ended; I found out that I didn't really give people enough words, so when they still managed to end well, it was a bonus! :D
Prompt 2 Winners:

Grand Winner: 'Germany's Pride, Germany's Youth' by Princess Maira! This piece was so good, and so sad! It really helped me envision what it must have been like, and how most German Youth didn't even want to join! This piece was written beautifully, and I loved it! Congratulations Princess Maira! (https://www.writetheworld.com/groups/1/shared/153199/version/299304)

1st Place: 'U-Boat 12' by Raquel! This piece was so sad, but so beautifully written! I appreciate how you mention his family, and the diction was great! Congratulations Raquel!

2nd Place: 'The Unsung Labourer' by Fernweh! This piece was really interesting, because I had never read a story about Indentured Labour for the Indians before. The ending was very sad, but I really liked the freedom you captured. Congratulations Fernweh! (https://writetheworld.com/groups/1/shared/158401/version/309343)

Note: Again, I didn't have enough entries for third place in this prompt.

Prompt 3 Winners:

Grand Winner:
'The Adventurer: the Curse of the Midas BoxEleanor M! I really liked this piece because you actually wrote it like a story! All the other entries just wrote what they think should've happened (which is totally fine; it's what I was expecting) so I really liked how this was different! Also the little intro was beautifully written with lovely descriptive language! Congratulations Eleanor M! (https://writetheworld.com/groups/1/shared/153182/version/299949)

1st Place: 'Stargirl: In An Alternate Universe' by SunV! This piece was beautifully written as well, I liked the intro, and I totally agreed with the ending! Congratulations SunV! (https://writetheworld.com/groups/1/shared/158720/version/309994)

2nd Place: 'The Glue' by Fabiana250! I haven't read the maze runners, but it sounds good! Possibly explain who the characters are a bit more, but I understand you didn't have a lot of words. Congratulations Fabiana250! (https://writetheworld.com/groups/1/shared/154563/version/301945)

3rd Place: 'Twilight Series' by bambiamby! This was explained pretty well, which is good! There were a few bits I didn't quite understand, but that's just because I haven't read the Twilight series. The middle bit is funny :D Congratulations bambiamby! (https://writetheworld.com/groups/1/shared/153612/version/300134

Other Entries: 'Three Daughters of Eve' by Halopoet. This was good, but there was no intro, so I didn't know who any of the characters were or what they were doing. Don't despair! With a few adjustments, and some grammar checks, this would be great! (https://www.writetheworld.com/groups/1/shared/158441/version/309432)

Note: For this prompt, I had quite a few entries, and I really liked all of them! So, don't feel bad if you didn't get a place, it totally doesn't mean I didn't like them!
Prompt 4 Winners:

Grand Winner:
'The Life They Left Us' by Fabiana250! I loved this piece so much! It was written really well, and it was very interesting. I especially liked the short story form, that made it very interesting! This is a great piece to discourage climate change! Congratulations Fabiana250! (https://writetheworld.com/groups/1/shared/154825/version/302388)

1st Place: 'Four Hundred Stabs' by Tushar Mandhan! This poem was really good! The rhyming scheme was great, and the diction was beautiful! The message was really good too; sad but powerful! Congratulations Tushar Mandhan! (https://writetheworld.com/groups/1/shared/149935/version/292634)

2nd Place: 'Do Something' by mia_:)! I really liked this poem, and it had a super powerful message! There were one or two places where a verse sounded a bit too cut off, but overall it was really good! Congratulations mia_:)! (https://writetheworld.com/groups/1/shared/153548/version/300001)

3rd Place: 'Why do people think that skinny girls don't need comfort?' by Anne Blackwood! This poem was really good! Some parts were quite relatable, and that's good! Congratulations Anne Blackwood! (https://writetheworld.com/groups/1/shared/152998/version/298852)

Other Entries: 'Change' by Wicked!. I loved this also! Don't feel bad that this didn't get a place, it was great! This was simple, short, but powerful! Good job! (https://writetheworld.com/groups/1/shared/158830/version/310280)

'Should death penalty be allowed' by Mason Wong. This was a very informative essay, which is good! One thing, (which I have noticed for a few of your pieces) there is quite a lot of information, as in, (in my opinion) a bit too much. When there is too much information in a piece, it becomes boring and people don't want to read it. It wasn't bad, and with a little tweaking, it'd be great! (https://writetheworld.com/groups/1/shared/151959/version/300199)

Grand Winner: 15 likes of my choice, 5 reviews of your choice and one follow
1st place: 10 likes of my choice, 4 reviews of your choice and one follow
2nd place: 5 likes of my choice, 3 reviews of your choice and one follow
3rd place: 2 likes of my choice and 2 reviews of your choice

Well that is it! Thank you everyone so much for entering! This was a very enjoyable first contest, and I will very likely do another one! Don't feel too bad if you didn't get a place though, I loved every single piece! Prizes will be out soon, it just might take me a few days :D Comment underneath to tell me what to review ^u^ Congratulations to everyone! Keep writing!
