An ode to my sweater

September 26, 2018

Sweater, oh sweater
A lovely gift from some other
Red in colour
But as warm as summer

Sweater, oh sweater
Perfect for this weather
Soft like a feather
It is also white in colour

Sweater, oh sweater
Why do you smell like butter?
Wonder, I wonder
When did i spill my supper?

Mother, oh mother
I have ruined my sweater
It's now a faded colour
And smells like butter

Round and round in the washer
It now smells like a flower
No longer the grease of butter
My beautiful sweater finally smells better
I know it sounds like i was eating butter for supper but i really wasn't. I wrote this for English class and wanted some feedback :)

    "Sweater, oh sweater
Why do you smell like butter?
    Wonder, I wonder
When did i spill my supper? "

I love that part. So true, so innocent, so rhythmic, so funny. :)

This poem is quite nice! Maybe you could describe the beauty of the sweater a bit more? Just suggesting!
