Or someone who wanted to

I'm following the trail of petals falling from your lips
Each time I try to hold one it withers away

I keep painting your happiness into my eyes
But I'm never the flower in your hand

My heart bloomed and grew
Vines of emotion wrapping around my mind

I'll try to be content with staying behind
Sink my roots into different soil

It's the way I know I should be
A dust-covered floret lost in time
