i.   i know
     that we thought
     to be all caught
     up in each other's arms,
     all roses, black dresses,
     and soft backseat kisses.

ii.  but instead
     we just cried,
     asking god why,
     of all the things
     to keep us apart,
     it had to be this?

iii. often,
i find myself praying for your health more than mine, because if i
ever wake up to a world without you in it, i'll have nothing left to
     pray for.

iv.  oh! love,
     the world is simply fractured,
it seems simply set against us.

v.   but darling,
     i know for a fact
     we will make it out
     so much more than
     okay.

    "the world is simply fractured,"
loved this line, so beautiful and powerful, but comes off in a simplistic and elegant way.
    great piece.
