Message to Readers

i wrote this one on the spot. i've been really weary and fed up with the bigotry and arrogance going around the world. but it's hard to speak up when it feels like people only care about feeling smart and putting others down. so this is like a vent/response to all the garbage.

i am a gentle forest in the spring.
the air is always warm, the sky is always beautiful,
and the ground is soft with soil and flora.
but beneath the surface is a boiling darkness that is growing harder to contain.
lately, a lot of humans have been trodding on my lands.
they stomp around and bring their metal and pollution,
cutting down my trees to make their houses,
thinking only of asserting themselves.
now they have used their tools to set up mines 
to take the gems from my earth.
their constant taking
and most of all their disregard
has weakened the gentleness in me.
the surface grows weaker and the darkness is ready to break.
some day, one man will strike at the right spot
thinking he has found gold.
only then will this burden of mine
be released.
