Slow takeoff,
Happy laughs,
5 years old,
Pink backpack of crafts.
Exiting plans,
Not a drop of rain,
“It’s ok mommy,
I’m not scared of planes!”
Footnotes
Response to 2 prompts: "Now To Then", and "The Unknown"
For the "Now To Then" prompt, I had to write a memory or experience in reverse, starting with the future and going back. I made my poem based on a plane crash, where a little 5-year-old girl is going on her first plane ride. For the "The Unknown" prompt, you had to write about something unknown. I wrote this because the future is unknown, no matter how hard you try. I made this because this is the future of this particular girl. When the little girl says “It’s ok mommy, I’m not scared of planes!”, the mother views a quick flash of the future, in reverse. I hope that helped, as my friends have read this and not quite known what this is, and how it is a response to the prompt.
