Our Contest #GOrwell!!!! (2019) [Last Day! Need more Entries]

December 31, 2019

Not a lot of entries, so we're extending the due date. It's now December 31st 2019, giving everyone the rest of the month. We're looking forward to more entries!
Here's a review of the contest:

Prompts (3 total)
1. Irony Prompt (Word limit: 5-150 words or 2-50 lines)
Beautiful Irony is defined as "when the very thing that tried to destroy you, instead made you stronger." For this prompt writer, write about anything relating to beautiful ironyYou must compose this piece as a poem but it can be any genre.

2. War Prompt (Word limit: 50-1,000) [sorry about the typo last time, it's now fixed)
For this prompt writer, write a story based on war. Anything related to war. However, this piece must be composed as a short story, lowercase prose, or narrative but it can be any genre.

3. Miscellaneous Prompt (Word limit: 50-1,000 or 2-50 lines)
For this prompt writers, write a prompt about anything relating to society. In many of George Orwell's works, he writes about how he believed society would end up or how he envisioned it during a certain time period. We left this prompt very vague for the reason we want to see how you handle it. This also means it can be composed anyway you prefer.

Rules & Regulations
  • Once your piece is published, comment below the title (and the link if you're feeling nice)
  • In the title of your piece put '#GOrwell' and then the number of the prompt you did. For example, if you did prompt #1, your title would have '#GOrwell1'
  • In footnotes, include the date you finished/published that piece.
  • Must be PG-13, no curse words (With the exception of 'hell' in certain contexts, crap and damn is fine)
  • If any pieces go against the rules, then we will comment on your piece and give you 48 hours to fix it
  • Find judging information here: 'Writing Contest Criteria'
  • You may use previously written work
  • You may enter each prompt. Therefore, you can have up to three entries total
1st Place: 4 reviews (all your choice), a shoutout in our 'Message to Writers' box, mentioned in our Must Reads (for either the month of November or December, depends on when you write it), 3 comments/likes (our choice), the (metaphorical) 'Writers Award' (in which the next contest we have, you'll help pick one of the winners and pass the award onto them), & also bragging rights

Oh thank goodness, I’ve been so busy! I wanted to enter but had too much on my plate. I only managed to write a snippet for Prompt 2 an hour ago. Thank you for the extension! Do expect entries from me:)
